DESCRIPTION: Approximately 20mm. This ever increasing species has a wonderful bluish colour to the upper surface with the grooved elytra slightly hairy and contrasting nicely with the tawny orange legs and antennae. BEHAVIOUR: Often found in the seed heads of Wild Carrot where they sit chewing on the seeds.  Attracted to light, especially moth traps and sometimes in large numbers where they congregate in the bottom of the trap. DISTRIBUTION: Common in the South and increasing its range. HABITAT: Dry well drained habitats, especially coastal areas where foodplant grows. PERIOD: May to October.
